Mission Statement

The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) is to create, find and support programs that directly improve the health and well being of children.

Description

Ronald McDonald House Charities, a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) corporation, creates, finds and supports programs that directly improve the health and well being of children. Its grassroots-driven programs offer help where children need it most - right in their own communities. RMHC makes an immediate, positive impact on children's lives through its global network of local Chapters around the world and its three core programs: the Ronald McDonald House, Ronald McDonald Family Room and Ronald McDonald Care Mobile. These programs provide a bridge to accessible health care and allow families more time together, which helps in the healing process.

This is the first place I've volunteered that has not eaten me alive!! They continually recruit new volunteers. Each volunteer only works for 3 hours 2x per month. Any question you may have is easily answered by a sign, notebook, or training. And... the fact that I had a severely ill child at one point in my life, when all that was available was the vending machine room for a respite, helped me understand how vital a place to "get away from it all," and do something normal was! I'm glad to help provide a place with clean clothes, a shower, a meal, and NO hospital staff for parents waiting anxiously by the bedside of a sick child.
