Mission Statement

Our mission is to balance the health, safety, and welfare of people and animals within the City of Kansas City, Kansas. The Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas, George Lee Dunn Animal Shelter provides humane care for animals impounded and sheltered until they are returned or reclaimed by their owners, adopted to a new family or humanely euthanized.

Description

We are striving to provide humane care for the dogs and cats in our charge and to obtain for them a second chance for a good life. We have serious plans for the animals' cofort while they are with us and greater opportunities for adoptions. We want sincerely to make a difference, but we realize that we need more community involvement for a good shot at success.
