Mission Statement
Junior Achievement inspires and prepares young people to succeed in a global economy.
Description
Since 1919, Junior Achievement has existed to help prepare young people to become successful adults. Our current mission is to prepare and inspire young people to be successful in a global economy.
We are the world's largest and fastest-growing non-profit economic education organization. Our programs are taught by classroom volunteers from the business community in your area across America and in over 103 countries worldwide.
In Abilene since 1983, Junior Achievement's volunteer driven K-12th grade economic eduation programs have never had a greater reach. Over 200 volunteers will conduct our programs in nearly 300 classrooms across eight school districts (Abilene, Baird, Brownwood, Clyde, Eula, Jim Ned, Sweetwater, and Wylie) in the 2015-2016 school year. These volunteers use their personal experiences to make the Junior Achievement curricula practical and realistic. Providing children with positive adult role models, who illustrate ways to build self-confidence, develop skills and find avenues of success in our free enterprise system, is a hallmark of Junior Achievement.
Join us as, together, we empower the future.
