Mission Statement

We are a free literacy program for dyslexic students and others with severe reading difficulties.

Description

We use Alphabetic Phonics, a research-based multisensory language program to teach reading, writing, and spelling primarily to K-12 students. We are staffed by 2 lead teachers and 2 assistant teachers. Students work individually or in small groups for 1 hour three times a week. Sessions are generally after school. The program takes 2-3 years to complete.

This is an EXCELLENT program & the staff is exceptional, talented and above anything else CARING. This is the only program I could find to help my dyslexic son start to address the difficulties he had with learning spelling, reading and writing. After years in public school his self esteem was nearly non-existant which was killing my husband & I because he once had an appetite for learning & an enthusiasm to keep trying. Not only does his teacher at this center build his self esteem, he finally isn't seeing himself as "stupid"/"lazy" (as so many have said or implied). He's learned techniques/rules that help him to figure out how to decode words - helping to both spell & read better. I wish there was a way to get school districts to incorporate these programs into the schools for the 20% or more children that suffer from dyslexia. I can't say enough good about this program, the teachers/staff are so generous & donate their time & abilities to help our children succeed. THANKS
