Transportation Volunteer Role Description: Deliver products to and from Vitalant facilities and hospitals within the community it serves. Pick up freshly collected blood products from Vitalant Mobile Blood Drives in a nearby community and deliver to Vitalant facility for processing. Deliver supplies to Vitalant’s blood centers or blood drives. We provide the vehicle and gas. Provide excellent customer service to our communities’ hospitals and their employees. Vitalant - one of the nation's oldest and largest non-profit community blood service providers. United Blood Systems is now Vitalant. Vitalant ("Vye-TAL-ent") is one of the nation's oldest and largest nonprofit transfusion medicine organizations. There is a constant need for blood - in fact, nearly 5,000 donations are needed each day to meet the needs of people throughout the country. Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood. Every year, nearly 5 million Americans depend on blood transfusions. Donor Registration - We are looking for individuals interested in helping us on Thursdays, between 11:00 am-6:00 pm. Help with checking in donors, handing out refreshments, and post donation care.
