Children First Counseling Center is a non-profit organization that was established in 1977. We offer individual, family, and couples counseling, as well as play therapy for children through our general counseling program.
Many of our clients who have been abused, neglected, victims of crime, or have witnessed domestic violence are eligible to receive counseling provided by grants and therefore pay little or nothing for these much needed services.
A sliding fee scale is used to determine fees for clients who do not qualify for grant assistance.
We also offer curriculum based psycho-educational classes for Adoescents. We currently focus on Like Skills Training and Anger Management. Our "First Offenders" program seeks to help teens who have had their first brush with the law to learn better coping skills so that they do not fall into a cycle of repeated offenses.
Court ordered classes are also offered through our BIPP program. BIPP stands for Batterer Intervention and Prevention. Many batterers do not possess the coping skills to handle their frustrations due to the environment they were raised in. This program has seen nationwide success.
All of these programs support our mission to end the cycle of abuse in our community.
