To provide safe shelter to women and children in crisis and to offer life-changing services promoting stability, dignity, and self-reliance.

Description

Since 1990 The Shade Tree has served homeless and abused women and children, victims of domestic violence, victims of elder abuse, victims of street violence, female veterans, homeless youth and the physically disabled.

Using programs offered by The Shade Tree, women can rebuild their lives. They can find employment, secure permanent housing and become productive member of the community.

The shelter provides immediate safety from the harshness of the streets, street crime and domestic violence. Each person is provided accommodations that ensure the dignity and respect of everyone utilizing the Shade Tree services.

I had a very jaded past and it is only because of the help from complete stangers that I'm able to return back to school in hope of making a better life for myself. The selflessness of others made me want to a part of something bigger to help shape or change somebody's life or just let them know that there are still people in the world that care, without recieving compensation.
