Mission Statement

BaoBao Foundation strives to strengthen community, create awareness of the richness of West African arts and culture, and empower communities in Ghana through endeavors such as the BaoBao Library Project.

Description

The BaoBao Foundation was formed in 2014 to bring several separate initiatives together under one roof:

1. BaoBao Festival of West African dancing, drumming and storytelling (since 2004)

2. Building a library in Santa Maria, Ghana (since 2011)

3. Travel to Ghana (annual trips)

4. Mokomba Ensemble is a Boulder based performance group presenting traditional and contemporary works of African drum and dance from countries across the African continent.

5. Eduational outreach is how we introduce people to Ghana and West Africa.
