In addition to providing a camp for siblings separated through the foster care system, Camp to Belong is committed to educating the nation about the plight of siblings in out-or-home care and the importance of keeping them together, or connected, in foster care, relative placements, and /or adoptive homes whenever possible. CTB assists in developing a community awareness program for the purpose of recruiting foster and adoptive homes that embrace siblings. CTB is commited to raising awareness within the social service system to encourage enhanced best practice among social workers, increased sibling acceptance among careproviders, and new legislations among lawmakers regarding sibling placement and visitation. CTB enhances sibling relationships by providing a forum to discuss their thoughts and feelings with other youths in out-of home care, and inspires youth in out-of-home care to rise above their circumstances to prepare for a successful adult life, including higher education, solid healthy relationships, social maturation, meaningful career and family connections.
