Mission Statement

The Upper Arkansas Area Agency on Aging will assist seniors (age 60+) throughout the region in maintaining health, dignity, independence and quality of life through education, advocacy, coordination and delivery of services and programs.

Description

The Upper Arkansas Area Agency on Aging (UAAAA) advocates for individuals residing in nursing homes and assisted living residences through the Volunteer Ombudsman program. Region 13 covers four counties including Chaffee, Custer, Fremont and Lake and utilizes volunteers to serve the needs in all covered counties.

I have been volunteering as an OMB for almost a year now. It is very rewarding promoting and protecting the individual rights, dignity and independence of elderly residents of long-term care facilities. Alaina makes you feel like you are part of the team and by your side to help out with any questions,comments or concerns.
