Mission Statement
Resiliency for Life’s students will thrive in a challenging and supportive community that values individualized attention and parent partnerships. Our students will overcome social, emotional and academic challenges, growing into adults who value excellence, respect and community. The underlying philosophy of RFL is that all students can succeed given adequate support. Students in the program have demonstrated year after year that high expectations combined with a supportive environment create positive outcomes.
Description
Through a unique partnership with Framingham Public Schools, Resiliency for Life (RFL) serves a high-needs population within the town of Framingham. RFL is a voluntary academic intervention and dropout prevention program that develops skills and confidence in students with social difficulties who are at-risk of academic failure. RFL provides:
- Academic interventions, such as after-school homework programs, MCAS test prep and tutoring;
- Supportive community that holds students to high standards;
- Coordinated effort with the existing resources within the school system to ensure that students’ academic, social and emotional needs are met;
- Frequent progress reports to parents and workshops to address current issues such as communicating with teens, substance abuse, sexual health, post-high school planning, financial literacy, etc.
