Mission Statement

The mission of DIAVOLO is to further the transformative style of Architecture in Motion by providing dance performances, training, and community programs for all. DIAVOLO | Architecture in Motion explores the relationship and interaction between the human body and its architectural environment to understand how we are being affected not only socially, but also physically and emotionally.

Description

Diavolo is a renowned dance company based in Los Angeles. Founded in 1992 by Jacques Heim, Diavolo has performed extensively in Los Angeles as well as throughout the U.S, Europe, Asia, and Latin America; in over fourteen seasons of touring, Diavolo has performed for hundreds of thousands ofconcertgoers worldwide as well as millions more on television.

Education and outreach are crucial to Diavolo’s mission. Diavolo performs for over 22,000 students annually through young people’s matinees, in-school assemblies, and workshops. With the University of Georgia, Diavolo was awarded the National Endowment for the Arts’ Masterpieces Grant for intensive training programs. Across the country, Diavolo regularly conducts extensive community engagement workshops in schools, hospitals, and juvenile detention centers. The Diavolo Education Company regularly participated in the Music Center on Tour program as well as the Blue Ribbon Children’s Festival.
