Mission Statement

Higher Ground After School program's mission is to maximize students' academic success and build the character of an adult who has a positive and meaningful role in his/her community.

Description

Higher Ground After School Program is a free of charge after school program for K - 8th graders, located on the Southwest side of Tucson. The program now maintains an average daily attendance of 50 to 55 students and a total enrollment of 70 students.

Programming includes age appropriate activities in a variety of areas that address the academic, physical, social, and emotional needs of students. We provide homework tutoring, individual reading, sports, music, and art classes. Higher Ground supports the schools by extending the hours that students can learn in a safe and stimulating environment where they can have a one to one personal attention.
