Volunteer Job Title: Chief of Program Organization: Women of Color On The Move (WOCOTM) Location: Remote (with occasional travel for events and summits, if available) Type: Volunteer (Unpaid) Reports to: Executive Director , CEO and Board of Directors About WOCOTM: Women of Color On The Move (WOCOTM) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women and girls of color through leadership development, healing-centered support, education, and advocacy. Our mission is to create pathways of opportunity, equity, and holistic well-being for underserved communities locally and globally. Position Summary: The Volunteer Chief of Program is responsible for the strategic oversight, development, and implementation of all WOCOTM programs. This senior-level volunteer will work collaboratively with the Executive Team to ensure that programs align with WOCOTM’s mission, vision, and values. This position plays a critical role in scaling impact, measuring outcomes, and supporting team leads and volunteers across various initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership Lead the design and execution of WOCOTM’s programs, initiatives, and campaigns. Ensure all programs reflect the organization’s mission of empowerment, healing, and advocacy. Develop long- and short-term programmatic goals and benchmarks. Program Oversight & Development Oversee the planning, coordination, and evaluation of programs including youth empowerment, leadership training, mental health and wellness, economic mobility, and summits. Identify areas of need and propose new initiatives to expand WOCOTM’s reach and impact. Support program leads, mentors, and interns in day-to-day operations and long-term planning. Partnerships & Collaboration Collaborate with external partners, community leaders, and funders to strengthen program effectiveness and visibility. Represent the organization at meetings, events, and summits as needed. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting Establish systems for tracking program success, collecting data, and reporting on outcomes. Prepare internal reports and recommendations to the Executive Team and Board. Assist in creating compelling impact stories for stakeholders and donors. Team Management & Support Guide and mentor volunteer program staff and interns. Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and empowering team culture. Assist in recruitment, orientation, and training of new volunteers within program areas. Qualifications: Deep commitment to WOCOTM’s mission and values. Minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit program management, social services, or community leadership. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Experience working with diverse populations, especially women and girls of color. Strategic thinker with ability to translate vision into actionable programs. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual environment. Comfortable using email, video conferencing, and project management tools. Position Summary: The Volunteer Vice President of Programs supports the strategic planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of WOCOTM’s key programs and initiatives. Working closely with the Chief of Program and other department leaders, this role ensures that programs are mission-aligned, impactful, and responsive to community needs. Key Responsibilities: Program Strategy & Development Assist in the creation, planning, and evolution of core programs including youth mentoring, women's leadership, mental health/wellness, education access, and economic empowerment.
