Volunteers needed at our Cat Shelter In Lower Macungie Township

We are in need of volunteers to help clean and maintain our shelter both in the mornings and the evenings. We have several rooms for the adult cats, kittens, and special needs cats in our shelter. None of our cats are caged. Our morning shift is any time before 11 am and the evening shift is anytime after 5 pm. We are flexible so can work with your schedule. Right now we are in need of volunteers to help on Thursday Mornings, a few shifts in the evenings and weekends. Each shift will consist of providing the cats with fresh food and water, Cleaning out the litterboxes, washing the dishes and playing with the cats. Volunteers must be at least 21 years of age or older unless accompanied by an adult at all times. Volunteers will be required to attend a training session. We will also need a copy of your driver's license on file at the shelter.

Volunteers need to help with adoptions and home visits

We are looking for volunteers to help with the adoptions of our cats and kittens at the shelter and at our adoption center inside the PetSmart in Quakertown. This would involve helping with the adoption contract paperwork and reviewing it with the adopters. It would also involve delivering the cats to their new homes and doing a home visit at the time of adoption or possibly just taking the adopted cat to his or her new family. The time involved will vary week by week as it will depend on the adoptions we have. The adopters would be within an hour or less of our shelter which is located in Allentown, PA. Volunteers needed to maintain Cat and Kitten Adoption Center in Quakertown

We are in need of volunteers to help us maintain our adoption center which is located inside the PetSmart in Quakertown. We need volunteers in the morning anytime between 9-11 am and also in the evening anytime between 4-8 pm. Volunteers will need to clean the adoption center cages, make sure the cats at the center have fresh food and water and clean litterboxes and play with the cats and kittens residing in the center. Volunteers are needed 7 days a week. Right now we are in need of volunteers for the Monday and Friday AM and PM shifts and the weekend morning and evening shifts. Each shift takes about an hour and you can sign up to help out as your schedule permits once you are trained. You can stay as long as you like to play with the cats and kittens that are at our adoption center. Itty Bitty Kitty, Inc. is a non-kill, non-profit 501(c)(3), cat rescue organization and shelter that is dedicated to saving the lives of homeless, stray and unwanted cats or kittens.

Description

We adopt our cats and kittens by way of our website, www.ittybittykittypa.org and also by hosting adoption events at the local PetSmart stores and our shelter in Lower Macungie Township.

Prior to adoption, all cats are spayed or neutered, brought up to date with required vaccinations and tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV. We keep all cats and kittens in foster care until a home is found for them.

Our philosophy is being kind to animals helps build a better world for everyone. Through the generous support and donations from individuals within the community, we can ensure that any cat or kitten that comes into our care will receive the best of care and never have to worry about being alone, hungry, sick or in danger again.

I volunteer at the Quakertown adoption center every other week in the evenings. I clean cat cages, feed the cats, and of course play and snuggle with the cats that are up for adoption. It is a very rewarding experience and a great way to help care for cats while they are looking for their forever homes! Flexible scheduling, great organization!
