Mission Statement
HAFALI, Haitian American Family of Long Island, Inc. is a community based 501(c)(3) organization facilitating the acculturation process for the Haitian families in Long Island, NY. Hence, HAFALI serves as a bridge connecting the diverse communities in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
Description
HAFALI is a community based organization serving the long Island community since 1995. We aim to serve as the "epicenter" for families and individuals of Haitian descent while serving as a bridge connecting the Haitian Community and the Communityy at large. HAFALI strives to address the needs of Haitian communities in Nassau and Suffolk Counties on Long Island. Under the guidance of its Board of Directors, HAFALI aims to work diligently to design and implement services that are linguistically and culturally appropriate for the Haitian Community. HAFALI’s family focus model foster the acculturation process for the Haitian families by addressing the social, educational, and cultural needs. HAFALI advocates on behalf of its community and works to educate and empower our members in becoming self- sufficient. In addition, HAFALI is engaged in endeavors design to assist our countryman in Haiti.
