Volunteers needed who love art! MSS is a program that supports adults with disabilities, and we have an extensive art program. We are looking for artists in the community to come in and work with the adults in our program, and share their passion. Volunteers can come any day of the week between 9-2pm, for at least an hour each week. Must be comfortable engaging with adults with disabilities. Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Virtual Opportunity
MSS is a day program that supports adults with disabilities. We are looking for virtual volunteers to provide enrichment for the adults we support. Some of the areas they are interested in: Travel: Host a virtual session while on vacation, or even just out and about locally. Tour a museum, gallery, go hiking or do an outdoor activity. Share and describe your experiences via zoom and take us along with you virtually! Animals: Do you have pets? Work in a vet clinic? Own a farm? Set up a time to share some info about your favorite animals virtually and have your furry friends on camera too! Cooking/baking: host a virtual class to either teach us recipes, techniques, things we can participate in from our location, etc, or pretend you are on the Food network and walk us through making your favorite dish or dessert while we watch and enjoy Music: Do you play an instrument? Sing? Can you lead a virtual choir class? Any type of music performance or instruction welcome! Dance/movement: Teach a zoom class to get us moving! Dance, yoga, fitness, etc Virtual volunteer opportunities available Mon-Fri anytime between 10-2pm. Ideally we'd "meet" virtually once a week for about an hour, but we can be flexible!

MSS is a day program that provides a variety of supports and services to adults with intellectual and physical disabilities. Our Eagan location is looking for a volunteer to come in weekly and lead a group of program participants in any type of sport/movement class. Some participants may need adaptations made in order to participate, and staff will be present to assist. Volunteer should be positive, upbeat, outgoing, and comfortable engaging with adults with disabilities. Volunteer should also be available weekdays, Mondays are preferred but day of the week can be flexible, and the class will be held either 10-11am or 12:30-1:30pm. Volunteer must be able to pass a criminal background check and complete online training modules.

MSS is seeking volunteers to teach/demonstrate any type of adapted fitness or chair yoga/guided meditation to adults with disabilities. The focus should be on breathing and stretching in the chair, and to assist our individuals with stretching, range of motion and relaxation. Sessions could also include some guided simple imagery to help our individuals focus on positive thoughts and awareness of the senses. Instructor does not need to be certified professionally, but should be able to adapt the class and movements to the needs of individuals with varying mobility abilities. Volunteer should be comfortable engaging with adults with disabilities. Must be able to pass a background check. Opportunities available at any of our 6 locations: Apple Valley, Eagan, St. Paul, Shoreview, Brooklyn Park, and Oakdale. Classes could meet any weekday M-F between 9:30-1pm, but will vary by location. One hour per week would be an ideal schedule.

MSS is a program that supports adults with disabilities, and we are looking for volunteers who want to help enrich the lives of the people in our programs. Volunteers are wanted to come to our program and engage the people we support in meaningful activities. This could be crafts, cooking, woodworking, gardening, discussing history, book clubs and more. The possibilities are endless and can be centered around your own interests and passions! Any day of the week M-F, any time between 10-2pm. Ideally this could happen weekly for at least one hour, but scheduling is flexible. Volunteers should be outgoing, respectful, and comfortable engaging with people with disabilities. Must pass a background check and wear a mask while in our building.
