Cooking class-Apple Valley

MSS is a local non-profit that provides services and supports to adults with intellectual and physical disabilities. The program participants would love to have a volunteer come in weekly and teach a cooking class. No professional training required, just a passion and love for being in the kitchen, as well as ability to create basic dishes, or desserts and explain the process. Volunteer should plan to teach basic kitchen safety and work with program participants to create a "menu" of simple, basic dishes they would like to prepare over the course of several weeks. MSS will provide all the ingredients and supplies. Volunteer should plan to come to MSS one time per week (M-F) for one hour, anytime between 10am-12pm. Volunteer must be able to pass a background check and must be comfortable engaging with adults with disabilities.

Photography volunteer-St Paul

MSS is a program supporting aduls with disabilites. We are looking to add to our volunteer team and find 1-2 volunteers who can commit to coming in weekly and teaching us about photography. The volunteer could share tips and tricks on setting up a scene, lighting, angles, basic camera useage, etc. These activities would take place at our St Paul office and happen once a week for about 2 hours, anytime between 9:30-1:30pm, Mon-Fri.

Volunteers needed who love art! MSS is a program that supports adults with disabilities, and we have an extensive art program. We are looking for artists in the community to come in and work with the adults in our program, and share their passion. Volunteers can come any day of the week between 9-2pm, for at least an hour each week. Must be comfortable engaging with adults with disabilities. Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

We are looking to add to our volunteer team and find 1-2 volunteers who can commit to coming in weekey to share info and teach the people we support about plants, herbs, animals, bugs etc. These activities would take place at our St Paul office and happen once a week for about 1-2 hours, anytime between 9:30-1:30pm, Mon-Fri. The volunteer could bring in a variety of plants, flowers, or small animals (either therapy animals or those contained to a cage etc) and teach us all all about these things. This could be an interactive experience too!

Adaptive fitness/movement-Shoreview

Seeking volunteers to lead adaptive movement classes for adults with disabilities, some with limited range of motion. Open to any type of class: dance, fitness, yoga, etc. This class would ideally meet weekly, any time between 9-1pm for about an hour. Any day M-F. Must be comfortable engaging with adults with disabilities. Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

We operate seven locations that span the Twin Cities metro area, designed to support the diverse needs and aspirations of approximately 600 individuals who receive services each year.
