Mission Statement
Mission: To break the cycle of poverty through strategies that empower the economically disadvantaged. Vision: By empowering developing world artisans through the purchase and selling of their handwork, lives will be stabilized and ultimately transformed for today and the generations that will follow.
Description
Threads of Hope is transformational international economic development project which seeks to empower impoverished artisans around the world - focused mainly in three regions of Peru. ToH facilitates the sale of the vibrant handcrafted textiles created by the artisans with the help of volunteers, churches, and businesses throughout the United States. Due to this extraordinary collaboration with volunteers ToH is able to return 100% of the profit generated from textile sales to participating artisans in the form of poverty alleviation grants in the areas of Education, Healthcare, Housing, Small Business/Community Development. Based in Dallas, TX it has, since 1999, returned approximately $2.5M into the artisans lives and their communities.
