Mission Statement • Champion the creation, understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of the visual arts in the Grand Traverse region.

• Educate by providing high-quality, affordable educational programs to all ages.

• Present through an ongoing series of changing exhibitions, displaying high quality, challenging art and design by artists practicing in diverse media.

• Lead in collaboration among various organizations who seek to develop and build a strong arts culture in the Grand Traverse region.

• Enhance and enliven the quality of life and economy in our region.

Description

Fifty seven years ago, Artcenter Traverse City started as a ladies lunch and painting group. A place where artists could come to create, share and learn. Today, Artcenter Traverse City serves in much the same way but has expanded across the entire Grand Traverse region and become a vital component of the economic vitality and culture of the region. Now, with more than 600 members, Artcenter has proven to be a much needed and desired community organization. With its mission to encourage art, artists, and art education in the Grand Traverse region and beyond, Artcenter, is dedicated to continue to provide value for its members and the community at large.
