Mission Statement

We are an organization dedicated to:

• Promoting and demanding the changes necessary to transform high kill shelters into No Kill shelters.

• Bring about public awareness that by using the methods outlined in the No Kill Equation, we reduce the number of animals entering shelters every year such as by increasing the public's access to low cost and accessible spay / neuter services.

• Bring about public awareness that by following the No Kill Equation, it is possible to save all healthy and treatable animals that enter animal shelters.

Description

Five animal shelters in the City of Houston kill approximately 80,000 healthy and treatable dogs and cats every year.

However, it has been proven by other innovative shelter directors that High Kill shelters can transform themselves into No Kill shelters. It is being done all over the United States and in 3 other countries and it can be done in Houston. It is time to take killing off the table as an option. There is a formula of steps that must be followed-- a No Kill Equation -- that will drop the kill rate dramatically!
