Description

Northwest Kidney Kids, Inc. signature program is Teen & Family Kidney Camp - a four day camp designed specifically for Teens with chronic kidney disease followed by a three day weekend camp for children with chronic kidney disease and their families. In addition to camp, our Blood Pressure Monitor Program provides free blood pressure monitors to children impacted by kidney disease and we distribute blood pressure monitors to the parents of children with health issues such as obesity, kidney conditions and diabetes to help in the prevention, diagnosis and early treatment of hypertension and ultimately kidney problems. Our Kidney Teen Leadership Program and Family Support Program looks to engage children, teens, siblings and their families year around with quarterly activities that are both fun and educational. Through our Educational Program we have developed an 8-page brochure to educate families, teachers, and school administrators about kidney disease and the problems associated with providing a consistent education to children with kidney disease. In addition, we provide books, web materials, and related resources on parenting and managing life with kidney disease.
