Mission Statement

The mission of The Children's Center shall bet create,maintain and operate a center that shall coordinate a multidisciplinary approach for services for children who are at risk of or are victims of neglect and/or abuse in Transylvania County.

Description

The Children's Center is a private, non-profit agency that grew out of the concern of a group of local community members that children must be prepresented by an organization whose sole function is the advocacy for the child. The children's Center provides services for children and their family members bby offering: a safe environment for court ordered visitation, a one-on-one parenting program, emergency assistance and court school. The Center also provides the "Baby think it Over" program for all 9th graders with computerized babies and inforation of making good choice for your life. The majority of the work is volunteer based.
