Mission Statement

All people have the right to live free from sexual violence. Rape Crisis of the Southern Tier exists to provide comprehensive specialized services tailored to meet the special needs of victims of sexual violence in Chemung, Steuben and Schuyler Counties, and to improve community response to the problem of sexual violence.

Description

RCST provides:

Direct services to primary victims of sexual violence and their loved ones, including assistance with Crime Victims Board Compensation claims, short-term crisis counseling, referral to appropriate community services, accompaniment to legal and medical proceedings, and personal advocacy

Community education aimed at decreasing risk of sexual violence while increasing awareness of the problem

A twenty-four hour hotline staffed largely by trained volunteers
