I enjoy volunteering with the Junior League of Elizabeth-Plainfield. The hands on projects are well organized and always address a clear need. My volunteering has included working with families affected by domestic violence, helping seriously ill children, working on the issues of hunger and homelessness and more. I have also taken advantage of the training opportunities offered. The chance to help others while improving my own skill set has been a wonderful combination.

I have been a volunteer with the Junior League of Elizabeth-Plainfield for the past 10 years. In that time, I have been able to assist a wide variety of local non-profits and really see firsthand the needs facing our community. The Junior League is an ideal organization with which to volunteer, because they provide you with the training and information you need to be effective, and a support system in which to go out and volunteer. As an added benefit, I have met many remarkable, talented and dedicated women. This organization really makes a difference, and they make it easy for you to feel like you are making a difference, too.

Volunteering with the Junior-League of Elizabeth-Plainfield has been an incredibly rewarding experience for me. It is a wonderful group of women who are truly committed to volunteering in the local community, and the projects that I have been involved with have been amazing. From helping women who have completed job training programs to find career clothing, to packing up Thanksgiving food baskets at a local homeless shelter, there is a wide variety of volunteer opportunities available. In addition, the League provides members with opportunities to obtain additional training that enhances their ability to be an effective volunteer.

The Junior League is different from other volunteer organizations in that it is an opportunity to learn new skills and develop these skills through application of hands on volunteering.
