Mission Statement

The purpose and goal of the Victim Assistance Program is to enhance the treatment of victims and survivors of criminal and non-criminal crisis situations by providing them with the assistance and services necessary to speed physical and emotional recovery, to support and aid victims through the progress of the Criminal Justice System, and to make referrals to appropriate assistance agencies.

Description

The program is designed to provide emotional support and community service referrals for other agencies, as well as assist with Victim Compensation filing. It also provides information to vctim's about their particular case and court procedures, and provides the court with input from the victim as to the impact of the crime. The program acts as the advocate in the criminal justice system.
