Mission Statement
Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Ogdensburg is an expression of the Church's conviction that direct service and social action are constitutive elements of the fatihful's response to the gospel. It is dedicated to providing direct service to those who are vulnerable and in need of material aid, counseling and support. It is committed to fostering social justice and the participation of people in their communities. The sanctity and dignity of human life and relationships is the paramount goal it strives to foster. Catholic Charities utilizes the methods of social service, advocacy and convening in conjunction with institutional and community based programs. It engages members of the Church and community residents who share common beliefs and values in promoting justice and charity.
Description
The purpose of the Foster Grandparent Program is to offer low income senior citizens, 60 years of age and older, to provide supportive person to person services in health, education,welfare or realted settings to help alleviate the physical, mental or emotional problems of children having special needs. The main goal of this program is to enable seniors to remain physically and mentally active and enhance their self-esteem through continued participation in much needed community services.
