Mission Statement

The mission of the Drop-In Community Learning & Resource Center (DILC) is to support and nurture the lifetime learning of youth and their families

Description

The Drop-In Community Learning & Resource Center is a licensed facility located and serving the communities within New London County to promote successful youth development. In today's increasingly complex world our youth need bridges of learning to be fully prepared to accept the roles and responsibilities needed to be successful community members. As such, we have built a unique holistic experience and tradition over the past thirty-eight years and will continue to strategically evolve our design to offer relevant educational and enrichment programming to meet the needs of our youth and families.

We offer educational enrichment opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds primarily through our After-School Enrichment, Before Care, Summer Enrichment, Teen Life Skills, and our Reading Is Fundamental programs.

Our services share three defining characteristics. First is the safe, supportive and nurturing environment in which to pursue knowledge. Second, is the commitment to developing the whole person and the whole family to acquire the educational support and training needed to help our youth function successfully in their early stages, adolescence and throughout life. Third is offering our youth a leadership role in setting values and shaping their experiences in their community as informed citizens.
