Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
For The Family strives to serve the vulnerable and advocate on their behalf to manifest the Golden Rule and be our brother's keeper
For The Family's landmark telephone mentoring services enable parents to overcome challenging circumstances before they become a crisis. The Motherhood Mentoring Initiatives serves expectant mothers and parents of children ages 0-8. The Parental Mentoring Initiative serves parents of at-risk youth ages 11-17. Parents create their own solutions with the guidance of volunteer Mentors whose life experience matches their need. Their weekly, confidential dialogues provide valuable insight that also strengthens the entire family
The agency's Family Town Hall Series addresses societal vulnerability as its mentoring services address circumstantial vulnerability. Its community forums enable people who are suffering in silence to describe how essential services (including but certainly not limited to food stamps, social security, and care for the elderly) are often inadequate for their basic needs. By showing that "There but for the Grace of God go I," it increases public awareness as a critical step toward generating positive change. The Series takes place every spring and fall.
