Our mission is to inspire the preservation, recovery and stewardship of Hawaii's endangered marine mammals and the coast ecosystem we share. We are guided by the vision of a healthy and thriving population of marine mammals in Hawaii, living in a productive, balanced and sustainable coastal environment, coexisting within the economic and cultural community of the people of Hawaii.
About Us : Hawaii Marine Mammal Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization funded by private donations, government grants and corporate support. We work in the preservation, recovery and stewardship of Hawaii's endangered marine mammals and the coastal ecosystem we share.
* Our beach patrol & response volunteers find, identify, assess and document endangered marine mammals activity to aid in the research and recovery efforts, while engaging with the public to foster stewardship of these animals.
* Our responders assist government agencies in animal medical intervention activity, marine mammal rescue and other support so these animals may be saved, rehabilitated and released to the wild.
* We engage with Hawaii’s schools to educate children about our endangered marine mammals and how each child can help with species preservation and recovery.
* We participate in community events, work with other nonprofits, engage in development of public policy, and inform residents and visitors about actions we can all take to save Hawaii’s endangered marine mammals.
