ANIMAL HOSPICE END OF LIFE AND PALLIATIVE CARE PROJECT

Caregivers of companion animals are seeking quality-of-life options when their beloved animal family members are living with serious illness or the special caregiving needs that can come with, or near, the end of life. The Animal Hospice Group (AHG) is a collaborative organization of animal hospice and palliative care practitioners dedicated to instilling confidence and developing competency to provide animal caregivers with the knowledge to best support animals during this beautiful yet bittersweet time. Our community knows that people want the same gentle, dignified decline for their animal family members that their human loved ones experienced through hospice care, and we know they can achieve these goals through animal hospice and palliative care. Two AHG programs provide hope and help for pets and their people: 1) the Animal Hospice Practitioner Certification, an online advanced education curriculum, and internship and 2) the Animal Hospice Helpline to support pet parents and companion animal care professionals. We can build awareness of the field and serve more families with the help of people like you - please join the AHG!
