Mission Statement

Lost Angels Animal Rescue, Inc. in Tampa, Florida is a local no-kill animal rescue that is dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of unwanted animals in the local Tampa-St. Petersburg area.

Our primary mission is the rescue of as many dogs as possible who have been abandoned by their owners or taken to a shelter that does not yet support the no-kill philosophy.

Description

For many years Lost Angels has been at the forefront of establishing and supporting a no-kill philosophy amoung the many animal rescues and shelters in the Tampa Bay Area.

Many of the dogs we save are abandoned on the streets or at shelters because families are too busy and think the dogs have become burdens they cannot manage. It is quite unfortunate because many of the dogs we place for adoption are very loving and just asking for attention.

Lost Angels depends on a small, dedicated staff of founders and volunteers to care for over 750 pets that come through our doors each year.

Once we rescue the dogs from this fate, we foster them until they are ready for adoption by the general public. We hold weekly adoption events at the Petco on N Dale Mabry Hwy and Fletcher Ave., participate in numerous other events sponsored by other local rescue groups and businesses, and provide extensive exposure of our available animals in local media as well as the internet.

Because Lost Angels is a 501(c)(3) non-profit group and we abide by a no-kill policy, we are totally reliant upon private donations and fund raising events for our operating budget. Lost Angels receives no local, state or federal funding. All of our funding comes from the donations of those who want to help us save as many companion animals as possible. 100% of the funds we receive go directly to the care of our dogs and the other animals we take into our care.

This is the second rescue group we have supported with our time, money, and fostering of dogs. We find its members and supporters are very dedicated to ensuring each animal is treated well; both physically and psychologically. The emphasis is on finding the best home available, not just finding the dog a home. They are willing to devote both the time and money necessary to save as many animals as possible. Your time and money will be put to very good use by this group in its efforts to save as many dogs possible from a life on the streets or euthanasia at a kill shelter.
