Mission Statement

Central Vermont Adult Basic Education provides free literacy instruction for adults and out of school youth in the belief that a person who is literate has the essential key for self understanding and for full and active membership in the world. We carry out this mission with the engagement of our communities so that the hopes and efforts of our students will be championed every step of the way.

Description

CVABE provides free instruction to adults and teens in reading, writing, and math, high school completion programs, English for speakers of other languages, basic computer instruction, college readiness assistance, work readiness training, and family literacy programs. Volunteers have been at the heart of our organization since we began over 40 years ago.
