Mission Statement
Philadelphia has one of the highest rates of food insecurity in the country. An initiative of United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey and the City of Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Food Access Collaborative is a central group designed to meet the needs of the emergency food network, disseminate information on meal availability and help individuals and providers navigate the vast landscape of emergency food assistance in Philadelphia to maximize effectiveness. This network of organizations includes emergency food providers, social services and behavioral health organizations, community members, city government, emergency meal guests and philanthropic organizations working to combat hunger.
Description
The Philadelphia Food Access Collaborative is a coalition of antihunger advocates, community leaders, volunteers, city
government representatives, philanthropic organizations, emergency meal providers and their guests who work together to build the city’s capacity to provide nutritious meals and vital social services to Philadelphians in need.
