Mission Statement

Youth Mentoring Partnership (YMP) is committed to helping kids overcome formidable challenges to be successful today and in the future. Our mentoring programs help youth master goal setting skills, build mental toughness, and forge character through intense physical fitness and sports.

Description

Friend Fitness (a YMP program) is a youth mentoring program designed to help all kids (grades 6-12) develop mental toughness, a strong work ethic, determination and goal setting skills. Through intense weekly workouts kids discover what it takes to achieve their goals not just in the gym but in their academic, personal and social lives. Mentoring occurs both one-on-one and in groups.

Would you recommend Youth Mentoring Partnership?

by Nicole H. (March 26, 2010)
Friends Fitness is a great way to give back to the community. The mentor puts a child through a workout which is tough and very rewarding. The program is unique and well designed. Attainable goals are set with each mentee based on academics, physical and social aptitudes. There is a great network of volunteers. Everyone is positive and supportive. I would certainly recommend this program to anyone looking to give back and create an active atmosphere for a child.
