Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
The Miquon School treasures and celebrates childhood. We give our students time to play and grow. Our program and our environment encourage wonder, inquiry, independence, and discovery. We seek to create confident, life-long learners who will move out into the wider world with strong academic and social skills, intense personal interests, a love for the arts, and a commitment to building inclusive and peaceful communities. We are dedicated to learning together in the rich tradition of Progressive education that is our founders' legacy. Our ten acre campus allows extended exploration of the environment, and our place in, and resposibilities to, nature.
The Miquon School is a private, non-profit, non-sectarian, elementary school which was founded as part of the Progressive Education Movement in 1932. It includes grades from Nursery through sixth and is located on ten acres of woodland in Whitemarsh Township. We presently have 140 students, 15 classroom teachers, and specialists in science, art, library, art, physical education, and music. The school holds memberships in the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), and the Association of Delaware Valley Independent Schools (ADVIS).
Miquon is accredited by the Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools (pAIS).
