Mission Statement

The Mentoring Children of Prisoners Program provides a youth, who has an incarcerated parent, with an adult mentor. The mentor provides consistency, reliability, and an adult the youth can depend on.

Description

The Mentoring Children of Prisoners Program is seeking mentors, ages 20 and older, to meet with a youth on a weekly basis. The minimum commitment is one hour per week for one year. The one hour per week is flexible and can be completed on the day of the week, or time of day, that is convenient for the mentor and the family. Mentors complete a series of background checks and are provided with training. Background checks and training are completed by the Mentoring Children of Prisoners Program, at our expense. Mentoring time can be spent engaging in recreational, educational, or cultural activities.
