Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide comprehensive programs, support, and opportunities that help young people realize their full potential, sharpen skills and enable them to become vital, responsible and contributing members of society. We aim to strengthen the physical, emotional and educational lives of young people in order to promote successful leaders in the future.

Description

CPL Youth Center is a grass root community-based 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization started in 2007. Our founder, Judy Cheng first created CPLYC in Frederick County, Maryland with a vision where young people can build lasting, positive change in their lives.

CPL stands for Center for Preparatory Learning. We believe that education is key to a child's success. To improve and support the educational lives of our youth, the Center for Preparatory Learning was established to provide tutoring programs for students up to 12th grade. We are advocates for academic achievement and the pursuit for higher education and learning. We also believe that all students should be able to get help in their studies without having to pay the high prices at educational corporations and franchises. Our classes occur in the local community at places such as Public Schools, Libraries and College Campuses.
