Mission Statement

home&community, inc, a 501c3 organization, was formed to build power and promote green practices among a broad base of low-income residents and their advocates. The organizationâ s goals are threefold: to provide tools and skills needed to improve communities; to support capacity building among residents and advocates involved in community development processes; and to facilitate people controlling â in a meaningful way â the institutions that affect their lives.

Description

The organization has focused on the formal delivery of housing and community development information and the formal delivery of organizing tools and skills to practice that knowledge. We have served primarily as an online resource providing articles and organizing methods to residents in 42 states. Our effort to improve affordable housing and communities now includes providing access to green products and the introduction of green practices to these residents. We help residents bring fresh food alternatives to their communities in the form of urban farms, mobile farmers markets and other methods.
