Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
CASA of Troup and Heard Counties advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children within the court system. Our belief is that every child is entitled to a safe, stable and permanent home. We provide screened, trained, and supervised volunteers who speak for the needs of these children, one child at a time. CASA works in collaboration with key agencies, a guardian ad litem and community resources to achieve the child's best interests. CASA ensures that deprived children have a choice in court.
A Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) is a trained community volunteer who is appointed by a judge to advocate for the best interests of an abused or neglected child involved in juvenile court deprivation proceedings.
The CASA volunteer gathers information about the child's situation, attends court proceedings and makes a recommendation to the judge so that the judge has information ton make a decision about the child's future.
A CASA volunteer protects a child's right to be safe, to be treated with dignity and respect, and to learn and grow I the safe embrace of a loving family.
