Description
L'Arche Heartland was founded in 1987 when we welcomed our first persons with disabilities into the community. The community comprises three homes for persons with developmental disabilities and a day service. Our core members (persons with disabilities) and assistants (persons who serve as care providers) share life together and live out the mission of L'Arche in our larger community. Our day service, L'Arche Academy, provides access to educational opportunities for persons with developmental disabilities. We are generally a Christian community, but are open to people of all faith traditions.
