Mission Statement

Alleviate food insecurity during major breaks amongst San Diego children reliant on free/reduced school breakfast and lunch programs.

Description

FULL is a teen-led organization formed under Whatever It Takes (WIT), a national social entrepreneurship course for high school students. Currently in its fifth year running, FULL has been created, developed, and expanded by San Diego youth with a desire to solve the major problem of food insecurity amongst children during breaks. We work with local elementary school staff where a majority of the students qualify for the free/reduced school meal programs to identify families most in need of our support. These families are invited to one of our 4 annual distribution events where they "shop" through a selection of food items, taking home full bags of groceries that will sustain them throughout the break. The food items are purchased with individual monetary donations (always appreciated!) and also received in-kind by local food companies who believe in our cause. We believe in service with a smile and are always looking for new ways to get the community involved in solving this major issue. Thank you for supporting FULL- full bags, full bellies.
