A VERY REWARDING EXPERIENCE Purpose: To provide support, tracking (sweat equity), and education for future deserving homeowner families. Responsibilities and Duties: Assist families throughout the entire process of becoming homeowners (answering questions, helping with planning and budgeting, recording sweat-equity hours, identifying other community resources, follow-up explanations of training workshop materials, providing home maintenance tips, etc.). Qualifications: Good listener and relationship builder, sensitive to issues that may result from living with a limited income, confidentiality, willingness to learn sweat equity guidelines. willing to participate in construction workdays on occasion. Commitment Required: For the length of assigned family partnership. From approval to home ownership can be up to two years. Partners usually meet once a month maybe more often toward the end of the program. Work Location: Monthly team meetings at Habitat Restore, meet with family regularly with location to be determined. Training: Training includes review of habitat’s history and mission, affiliate policies and procedures, purposes of family support, one on one training with current mentor.

Set up volunteer sign up and lunch area before the build day begins. Greet volunteers and ensure they sign waivers. Pick up lunch on certain days. Take down volunteer rest area. This would be great for someone who enjoys people and is detail orientated. You will also need to be able to lift 40 lbs or less, such a tables and drink coolers. The volunteer coordinator will train you and assist as needed.

Primary position/duties: To provide lunch for construction crew volunteers on the job site. It is necessary to check in with the Volunteer Coordinator one to three days prior to the designated meal day to establish the number of volunteers that will be on site. The number of volunteers usually range between three to fifteen depending on the project. Physical requirements: Create and deliver a meal for construction volunteer crew. Equipment to be used: Personal vehicle for delivery. Personal kitchen supplies needed to create meal. Occupational requirements: None Hours per week to do this job: One to three hours, depending on meal preparation and driving requirements. Number of slots available: two, one Saturday a month.
