Description

ElderHomes gives civic, military, faith-based, and social, groups the opportunity to field a team of volunteers in their own community, to perform repairs on the homes of needy senior homeowners. With an emphasis on installing grab bars, railings, and other safety measures, teams also paint, replace floor/wall boards, weatherize, do yard work, and other unskilled to medium skilled chores. The groups also install security equipment and repair broken doors or windows. All year long, ElderHomes Volunteer Service staff qualifies, visits, and creates work-scopes of applicants. They then send the list to existing volunteer groups who can pick projects based on their group size and skill level. New volunteers can call the office and ask for projects available. Independent volunteers are also needed to do small, but vital, jobs.
