Mission Statement

The mission of Ingalls Hospice is to extend the period of time in which patients can be safely, comfortably, and affordable care for at home or in a home-like setting. To provide a multidisciplinary team of professionals and volunteers who will provide comprehensive terminal care to the patient and family as a unit. This comprehensive care will include: A. Competent pain and symptom control, B. Comprehensive psychosocial and spiritual support and C. Bereavement follow-up. To ensure the appropriate care is provided to meet the individualized needs of the patient and family. To integrate the philosophy, concepts, and practices of hospice into an inpatient or nursing home setting as needed to meet the needs of terminally ill patients. To provide 24-hour availability of hospice professional services, To ensure appropriate training and continuing education for the multidisciplinary team, and To act as an educational resource for the community.

Description

Ingalls Hospice services provides support and care for persons in the last phases of an incurable disease so that they might live as fully and comfortably as possible. Ingalls Hospice offers a centrally administered program of palliative and supportive services to provide physical, psychological, social, spiritual, and bereavement follow-up care for dying persons and their families.
