Mission Statement

Gilda's Club provides a meeting place for men, women and children living with cancer, along with their family and friends. They join with others to build social and emotional support as a supplement to medical care.

Description

Gilda's Club Rochester is part of a worldwide network of Gilda's Club affiliates whose mission is to provide social and emotional support for men, women and children living with cancer as well as their families and friends, entirely free of charge.

The free membership at Gilda's Club Rochester includes three very important types of programming: support groups, lectures or workshops and social activities. There are support groups for people living with cancer, their family and friends. Workshops and lectures include, but are not limited to painting, yoga, meditation, Tai-Chi, opportunities to "Ask the Expert" about certain aspects of cancer, stress management, journal writing, cooking classes, and many other arts and crafts. Social activities consist of potluck suppers, cook-offs, "Dinner and a Movie" nights, holiday gatherings and barbeques.

Gilda's Club Rochester brings the Gilda's Club mission of cancer support for the whole family, the whole time to those touched by cancer in New York State living in Monroe and surrounding counties.

You may contact the clubhouse by phone at 585-423-9700 or by email at info@gildasclubrochester.org
