Description

The Center for International Peace and Reconciliation (CIPR) is a think tank based in Baltimore, Maryland dedicated to fostering peace and reconciliation in divided societies across the globe. Founded in May of 2016, the CIPR has four main functions:

  • To produce research projects on peace and reconciliation that can be used to inform the general public, scholars, journalist, and policy makers;
  • To advocate for public policies and legislation that address the root causes of conflict while at the same time encouraging peace, respect for human rights, justice, and equality;
  • To implement awareness programs that bring members of divided communities affected by violence and injustices together to face the past, acknowledge the present, and plan for the future;
  • To offer trainings that will equip students, journalists, and policy makers with the knowledge and advocacy tools needed to identify, engage in and challenge many of the underlying issues hampering peace and reconciliation in both domestic and international contexts.
