Description

The Nashville International Center for Empowerment, formerly the Sudanese Community and Women's Services Center, offers refugees and immigrants who have resettled in Middle Tenessee direct social services designed to ease their transition into their new lives in America. NICE offers classes in English, citizenship, GED, computer, and job training, as well as youth and immigration services. These programs are designed to empower these new Americans to provide for themselves and their families and to become productive members of American society.

They offer services to a wide community. They are very friendly and really want to help people get ahead. The class I volunteer at has students from Myanmar, Cuba, Sudan, all over really. It's a lot of fun!
