Mission Statement

Our volunteers are concerned citizens, organizations and people with a passion who want to help us fulfill our mission: "To manage, protect and sustain Illinois' natural and cultural resources; provide resource-compatible recreational opportunities; and to promote natural resource-related issues for public safety and education." We believe our volunteers enhance IDNR's ability to offer a quality recreation and outdoor resource program. Volunteers offer our staff years of experience, skills and talents. They are a crucial component of our Department and we appreciate them.
