Hickory Hill is a historic house museum owned and operated by the Watson-Brown Foundation. It's mission:Hickory Hill, through careful restoration, accurate recreation, professional preservation, and thoughtful interpretation seeks to foster a fuller understanding of the life and times of Thomas E. Watson, and to inspire reflection on the Jeffersonian virtues of life in the rural South.
Hickory Hill, constructed in 1865, is a Greek Revival style mansion situated on 256 acres of Georgia pine forest. It is a working farm with fields of watermelon, cotton, corn, etc., as well as chickens and peafowl. The staff of Hickory Hill devote much of their time to educational programs for the youth of Georgia, including summer camps and school programs.
