Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
Dedicated to establishing teams of local volunteer medical, public health professionals and concerned citizens to contribute their skills and expertise throughout the year as well as during times of community need.
The Carson City Health & Human Services MRC is actively recruiting new MRC volunteers. Currently we have about 80 community volunteers that have assisted us on several occasions including assisting with the operation of four Points of Dispensing (POD) exercises and flu vaccinatins for middle school students. The Carson City MRC is fast becoming a community resource and our MRC volunteers will be pre-identified, pre-registered and prepared to respond to an emergency. Our membership includes persons with a wide variety of working experiences and a keen interest in community service. This group includes medical professionals and students, members of local service organizations, community memebers who are interested in gaining additional disaster education and willing to respond to community needs. Other sources of support volunteers include city employees, retirees, etc. The Carson City MRC is beginning a formal training and an orientation process for volunteers to meet national requirements including ICS and NIMS training. Eventually we will expand our training program to offer other information like Psychological First Aid, Animals in Disaster, POD (Points of Distribution) and Communications training.
